The OfficeConnect CD-ROM Server from Castelle is a multiprotocol unit designed to give network-direct connections for up to seven attached CD-ROM drives.Multiple CD-ROM servers can be placed on the network for cost-effective scalability. This CD-ROM Server is independent: users can access files directly without a dedicated PC or burdening larger file servers with requests and data retrieval. It can be installed on any LAN segment, allowing users from different environments to simultaneously access drives. The CD-ROM Server is easily managed through an intuitive graphical management tool via Windows, a web browser, an SNMP management station over TCP/IP or IPX, or a console; supports hypertext links from other web servers and can read the new HTML formatted CDs. Security features include the ability to restrict access to specific groups, hosts, or individuals. The number of concurrent users to a disc and discs an individual can concurrently access may be also limited.
