3COM WXR100 REM OFFICE WLS LAN SWCH

Description:
This cost-effective remote office wireless LAN (WLAN) switch is ideally suited for branch offices of enterprises looking to streamline security while centralizing WLAN administration and radio frequency (RF) management. What sets the 3Com WXR100 Remote Office Wireless LAN Switch apart from other wireless switches in the 3Com Wireless LAN Mobility System family is its automatic "no-touch" deployment and remote configuration and management capabilities that require no onsite IT expertise. Authenticating wireless users, optimizing RF gain, assigning radio channels and monitoring the RF environment can all be done remotely from a central Wireless Switch Manager console (additional purchase required). With just a few keystrokes, administrators can change parameters for multiple Managed Access Points (MAPs), eliminating the time-consuming task of individually configuring each device. The WXR100 can be configured to provide local AAA services to keep local wireless services going, even if the WAN link to the central office fails. The WXR100 can also offload IEEE 802.1X/EAP authentication processing to significantly reduce the WAN traffic to the central RADIUS servers.WXR100 wireless switches can be grouped with other 3Com WLAN switches and controllers to form a single Mobility Domain, sharing a common user database. If a user moves from one MAP to another within the domain, the user's details are quickly transferred and the user's session continues uninterrupted. And by sharing user-specific security policies between other WLAN controllers and switches, IT staff can consistently enforce user and group attributes as users roam.
