Great Product for the Price$, January 24, 2006
By user (Gas City, Indiana)
PROS:: *Good price. I picked one up new for $19.00 *Drivers installed easily *Easy to configure under Windows XP *Works with Ubuntu Linux out of the box *Performance was not outstanding but very acceptable for most applications. I was able to get a signal pretty much everywhere that I can get an signal using more expensive cards from Dell and Buffalo wireless. CONS:: *No external antenna adapter (not applicable to most users) *Documentation on the website is a little weak. *If you do go to the website it is hard to tell which model of card you are using. This seems to be a common theme for Alink+ products across the boards. I also have used an Airlink+101 router; good luck finding the model numbers on any of these products if you don't have the box handy.
OVERALL: If all you want to do is get the wireless networks at home, at the library or in most coffee shops, then you really can't go wrong with the Airlink+ 802.11g Wireless CardBus Adapter; especially for the price. If you work with Linux or you have a tendency to tinker with this setting or that setting and are really into customization, then you may want to go with something that is a little more robust. Geek Gage: If you have any of the following at home then you will probably want to look for a little more robust card: *A domain controller *A Linux Router *Two Wireless Routers that are connected to each other
