| Description: |
| The Avaya AP-3 dual slot architecture provides both 11 Mbps and/or 54 Mbps to wireless users, making this an ideal solution for enterprise customers. Just change the cards and upgrade the software to get the level of performance required. With this flexibility, past investments can be protected by using high-performance, 2.4 Ghz 802.11b radio cards now, and migration to higher speeds can be supported via 54Mbps, 802.11g or 802.11a technology. The AP-3 is one of the first enterprise-class wireless access points to support 802.11g, which not only supports 802.11g client cards for high speed wireless LAN access but is backward-compatible with 802.11b client cards. The AP-3 not only delivers great performance but also provides security capabilities to help ensure the confidentiality of all wireless transmissions. The AP-3 supports an ever-increasing list of standards-based security features, including RADIUS authentication, 802.1x authentication, dynamic key exchange, 64/128/152 bit encryption, MAC-based access control lists, and WPA. Additionally, the AP-3 can be used with Avaya and other vendor's VPN solutions to provide even stronger security. The integrated network management capability of the Wireless AP-3 makes it especially easy to embed the AP-3 into large or medium enterprises and be managed as part of the overall network. Avaya's Network Management Console within the Avaya Integrated Management Suite provides centralized management capabilities for up to 1, 000 AP-3s.The AP-3 architecture can support Wireless IP telephony as well. The dual slot architecture supports high-density deployments often necessary for IP telephony deployment. Support of the Spectralink SVP protocol helps to provide enterprise class wireless LAN telephony when the AP-3 is used with Avaya IP Wireless Telephones. |
