The upgrade kit instantly transforms your Aries server into a complete wireless access point that allows file sharing for Windows or Macintosh based clients. It also makes it much easier to add or move workstations, and to provide connectivity in areas where it is difficult to lay cable. It is compatible with any 802.11b wireless LAN PC Card or PCI adapter installed on the client PC. The Aries Access Point operates in 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) for wireless networks in the home or office environment with transparent bridging and roaming capabilities. It can be managed remotely via the web-based configuration menu. It also supports WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and user authentication to ensure a secure network connection. The upgrade kit consists of a Wireless PC Card, a high-powered antenna and the installation CD.
