Description:

This enhanced route switch controller (ERSC) has a faster CPU, more memory than the route switch controller (RSC) card, and two Fast Ethernet ports for network management. It transfers data as Fast Ethernet or gigabit Ethernet packets encapsulated in proprietary protocol. ERSC provides high availability when configured in handover-split or RPR+ mode. It boots and reloads software images. ERSC provides source clocks used by all feature cards and power supplies. Providing a BITS input BNC connector, it connects to an external alarm source through a connector located on the front panel.
