DOES NOT WORK WITH VISTA, August 3, 2008
By user
This product does not work with Windows Vista. When I got it it would not install properly. I went to D-Link's web site to see if there was an updated driver but it showed that they did not have drivers for Vista. I called D-Link's sales department, as it is impossible to get to a "live person" in their technical support department, and the sales rep told me that they do not have a driver for this device for use on PCs running Vista.

Works on Vista too, August 2, 2008

I gave it 3 stars because the only problem with it is crappy documentation. The Device itself works flawlessly and I give that 5 stars. I have a Vista Machine and i was having problems like others mentioned, However the fixed proved surprisingly easy. I uninstalled all the crap the disc installed on my pc.
Works flawlessly ever since, connected a Bluetooth Logitech Mediaboard Pro and a Cellphone and it works great.

So for any others who cant get it working on vista do yourself a favor and throw the manual and the disc out and trust vista to install it and set the bluetooth for Discoverable mode.

The only one tested by Apple that works with new Apple Bluetooth mouse and keyboard devices. A must.

I bought this so I could connect my samsung/t mobile 429 cell phone to my pc. Found out my cell phone will only connect to a bluetooth headset and cannot connect to my pc via bluetooth. I sent the item back but it seemed to work just fine. FYI check your manual before buying this item for cell phone.

I bought this to use the Apple wireless keyboard with my Mac Pro and had no problems at installation by following the instructions on Apples site. It has been in use a few weeks now and still working well.

not compatible with Windows vista, June 13, 2008
By user (Brandon Vermont)
it does not say anywhere on the documentation of the item that it is not Windows vista compatible. I tried to look for drivers and there are none to speak of. Unfortunately I wasn't able to return this item because my housekeeper accidentally threw it away. If you don't have vista I'm sure it works fine.

    Instant Bluetooth, June 7, 2008

I'm giving my Mac Cube a well deserved renovation, a face lift inside and out. I simply plugged into the USB hidden below and within seconds POW! BAM! I've got Bluetooth. My Mac Cube asked me if I wanted to set up any Bluetooth devices and I easily paired an Apple wireless keyboard and a Logitech mouse that looked and functioned like they all belonged at birth NINE YEARS ago. If I could only order the rest of my life so elegantly and efficient.

Hi, I bought Dlink Bluetooth and I found was I looking for, Audio Gateway bluetooth support. Excelent products

Other reviewers can't figure it out., May 23, 2008

This product seems to get a lot of low ratings because mainly the other reviewers are not tech savvy have no idea what they are doing. I use my D-Link to do anything from use my BlueAntz Z9 bluetooth headset on Teamspeak/Ventrilo/Skype to transferring files from my PC to my phone. I even make my own ringtones! You can do many things with this product and I highly suggest it. Don't listen to the other reviews if you know what you're doing with a computer. Just make sure you get the proper drivers required or else you will be in the same boat as everybody else.

Not worth the time or money, May 23, 2008

DLink's DBT 120 (version C) isn't worth the frustration - have installed, uninstalled and repeated so many times, and the foolish thing still isn't working.

An exercise in futility... don't buy it!!

    No problems, May 19, 2008

No problems loading and works fine. I would given it 5 stars if it wasn't made in China. I use it for file transfer to my phone from my computer. No complaints.

    D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth Adapter a disappointment, May 8, 2008
By user (Hartford, CT USA)
This adapter was difficult to install. I had to get D-Link's assistance. Once installed, it kept uninstalling. I bought it to link my cell phone to my computer. During the attempt to pair the cell phone to the computer, I was asked to provide a passcode, which I couldn't find, so the whole thing was an exercise in frustration. I ended up buying a USB cable to link the phone to the computer.

    works with Vista x64, April 3, 2008
By user
Switched to Vista 64-bit, but part of the problem with that is that some devices no longer worked via usb due to a lack of drivers - my palm for example and my cell phone. Bluetooth seemed to be my only workaround for it but that meant finding a bluetooth adapter that works with Vista x64. I got this adapater, plugged it in and hoped for the best. Vista installed it without a hitch. My palm and cell phone have had no issues working with it. Plus that's two less usb cables I need to keep around.

Put this item on your "Do Not Buy" List, March 12, 2008

Yesterday I received my D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth adapter and spent 2 hours trying to get it installed and talking to my Bluetooth Nokia cell phone. The CD installation disc did not work as I have Windows Vista. Next I downloaded new Windows Vista compatible software from Toshiba. After two attempts, it finally installed and it found my Nokia cell phone. But no matter what I did, it refused to connect my PC to my cell phone. Just a "connection failed" message and no further help. If you have Windows Vista, put this item on your "Do Not Buy" List. Oh yes, I contacted D-Link before purchasing it, and they said it is Windows Vista compatible.

I finally installed Nokia software and got the system to work. But for what one must go through to get Bluetooth to work, it's not worth the effort!

I strongly recommend that one should purchase a hardwire connector for use in connecting a PC to a cell phone.

didn't work on 1 of my computers, March 6, 2008
By user (Chicago)
This item did not work on my HP laptop. It did work on my wife's Toshiba laptop. Worked well (when it worked). Could have been an issue with my laptop (my usb ports are usb 1.1 not 2.0 - wouldn't think that would matter, but who knows).

It works just fine, February 27, 2008

It was easy to install. If you are using a Palm device you cannot access internet unless you have a bluetooth enabled phone that can connect to the internet.

Work perfect in MacOS eviroment, January 26, 2008

This product just works perfect. I can say that for MacOS, don't know about windows. Plug it into the USB port, and start sync my motorola phone in seconds.

Word of caution for Mac users, December 22, 2007
By user
It's not a big thing, but the version of this adapter that is shipped now does not look like the one pictured and is a newer version (C1) that does not allow a wireless keyboard or mouse to wake a sleeping Mac even with a download of the firmware upgrade available through Apple online support. Older versions of this adapter (such as B2) will allow the waking function with the firmware upgrade. I have an iMac G5 running OS X 5.0.1 (Leopard). I received the adapter yesterday and its install was very easy, basically plug-and-play. It works perfectly with my wireless keyboard and mouse once computer is awakened using old wired mouse.

Reliable and Easy to Use, December 19, 2007

Among the bluetooth adapters available at the time I made this purchase, the D-Link had the best track record. It's not the rock-bottom cheapest, but believe me when I say the few extra dollars are worth it in headache prevention.

The package comes with three things: the dongle, which is about the size of your thumb knuckle (smaller than the average thumb drive); a usb extension cable, which is really handy if your usb ports are a little close together; the driver disc.

One word of caution: ignore the setup instructions-do NOT install the driver disc!! For some devices, particularly smart phones like the Blackberry, the D-Link drivers will not work properly. Have no fear, though- this actually makes things easier for you. You just plug in the dongle and away you go. Windows XP has built-in support that works flawlessly with my Blackberry Curve. I sync my phone, transfer files, and everything else without any problems whatsoever.

Overall I am extremely happy with this device and would buy it again without hesitation.

PS- I have heard of problems with this device and Windows Vista. All I can say there is Vista is already notorious for bugs, problems, etc. If you're using Vista, consider "downgrading" to XP.
