| Description: |
| Expand the range of your wireless network! The Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander is the easy way to increase the effective coverage of your wireless network. Unlike adding a traditional access point to your network to expand wireless coverage, the Wireless-G Range Expander does not need to be connected to the network by a data cable. Just put it within range of your main access point or wireless router, and it "bounces" the signals out to remote wireless devices. This "relay station" or "repeater" approach saves wiring costs and helps to build wireless infrastructure by driving signals into even those distant, reflective corners and hard-to-reach areas where wireless coverage is spotty and cabling is impractical. The Range Expander is perfect to help cover large areas in multi-story homes, warehouse environments, public spaces, wireless "Hot Spots", and outdoor venues - anywhere you need extra coverage for your wireless network. The Wireless-G Range Expander is compatible with the Linksys WAP54G Access Point, and both the WRT54G and WRT54GS Wireless Routers. It works with both Wireless-G and Wireless-B clients so you'll get the benefits of increased coverage, even with a mixed network. So, expand your wireless network's effective coverage the easy way, with the Wireless-G Range Expander. |

Works Great once you set it up, March 5, 2007
By user (Middletown, New Jersey)
I have verizon wireless DSL. Problem is the Verizon wireless router is in a location that will not reach a section of our house with a strong signal. This unit did the trick. It boosts the G signal that said weak on my laptop to excellent. Here is the trick in setting up. You must be in non Wep mode from your router first. Then once you get the double blue lights, you can enter the code in your router and your WRE54G to set up the WEP for security.IF you don't use security mode you should not have a problem. Just follow the directions and do not use the CD that comes with this product. Instead do the manual setup.

Solved my problem, December 10, 2006
By user (Seattle, WA USA)
My wife has a corner upstairs office where the wireless network was weak. Drove her crazy and me too because of the constant aggravation. Tried the antenna extenders, they only help a tiny bit. This repeater thing works great. She went from very weak signal to excellent. It was very easy to install with the automatic system that came on the CD - took 5 minutes. My only serious complaint is that the CD does not work with Mac computers. Lucky I have both Mac and PC computers at home.
