Linksys pci card is great I don't see the problem with it, July 30, 2008
By user (Upper Marlboro, MD)
This product is great the hardest part was taking off the paneling but it came off after I found the tool to use. It's simple to install into the computer took me less than 10 minutes. This was a great buy recommended.

I have yet to install this product, so I will update my review when I do.
Delivery of this item occurred two days after its purchase. The product came in a sealed box and was of excellent condition. The product is as advertised.
Closing remarks: great service, exceptional delivery time.

Linksys connection program sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Had to resolve issue by using Windows-controlled wireless connection program. Work great.

This wireless pci card is fantastic. Great connection, easy set up, good speed and good distance. I'm using it with a WRT54GS router. I would highly recommend this pci card!!!!

Very easy to install, June 30, 2008
By user (philly,PA)
The product is very good, easy to install anyone with a screwdriver can do it, the range is not that good , but it is fine for me, plus tech support is superb, can't ask for anything more

No boost here!, June 24, 2008
By user (Carson City, NV United States)
I bought the card so I could get a little better reception in a far corner of my house. I was replacing a USB adapter from the same manufacturer that worked...just not very well. The 'Booster' card never did work. There seems to be some software/firmware problems that couldn't be fixed by the included software or the Windows XP wireless networking program. Sorry, this is one I would avoid. I ended up upgrading my router instead.

Pretty Good!, June 19, 2008

installation took less than 2 minutes. Ran the CD, firmly inserted the card, plugged in the antenna and had a connection within seconds. Great for the price.

Bad Product!, May 23, 2008
By user (Ada, Oklahoma)
This product caused my Motherboard to crash and the company will not write me back on the matter!!! I think that you should purchase the TOP RATED NETGEAR product from PC WORLD!!!! It works with no problems AT ALL! I got mine at Wal-Mart for a good price.

A very difficult company to deal with, May 6, 2008
By user (Weehawken, New Jersey United States)
This is a bad company. I purchased a wireless router from them and, truth be told, it never really worked right. The speed was ok, but it was impossible to set up without tech support and every so often it would simply stop working. When that happened I would be forced to call tech support and spend 30-60 minutes on the phone fighting with them about resetting the router. I recently purchased a new computer and decided to save a little money by moving this router to it. When I called tech support I was told that the router was out of its warranty period and they could not help me... unless I would pay them to. That's right, I would have to pay for the assistance on their product - a working product because it was not under warranty.
So be warned that you are only buying the option to use Linksys' products for a limited time - that is if you have any problems whatsoever that require tech support. I am now trying a Trendnet. Let's see if they are any better.

a known Installation problem, April 29, 2008
By user (Chicago, IL)
Installation cannot be done and it is a known problem. This means that you cannot take an advantage of using the speedbooster.

undependable, April 12, 2008
By user (Bellefonte PA USA)
I'm disappointed. The product does work great, when it works. This card was purchased to replace the first one, that failed after about 12 months of service. This one is in service a month or so, and for the last few days it looses contact with the router, necessitating running the hard wire network connection to reestablish a link. I don't know if another brand or model would be any better, having no experience with any other similar product.

Doesn't work for Ad-hoc., April 9, 2008
By user
I bought the WMP54GS to install in my windows XP emachine to run a simple ad-hoc network. My PC froze up. I called LINKSYS support; they said it was my DSL modem's fault. I called Verizon, and they said it was a LINKSYS problem. I installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the software many times; no fix. Now, the WMP54GS sits idle on my shelf. My suspicion is that the card is OK but NOT for ad-hoc networks.

couldnt get signal, April 7, 2008
By user (portland, or)
it wasnt hard to install. but it couldnt seem to get a wifi signal. i dont know it was because of the item or if the signal just wasnt there.

it is not the best Wireless Card..., March 28, 2008
By user (Dutch Harbor, Alaska)
You get what you pay for. Speed boost is not working and only with compatible router. The signal reception strength is so poor. i have my notebook's wifi card doing better job than this wireless card with same distance from the AP/Router.
Do you want wireless; you get it... performance .. yes it is wireless and can remove the wire in your premises
If you are not expecting more than 50 feet, use this one or else go for other type of adaptors.. use a USB one would be better than these PCI cards... I will never buy a PCI type card anymore..

Linksys card, March 26, 2008
By user (Queens, New York 11433)
It was very easy to install, works great with my system and picks up and gives off a strong signal. I had no problems with placing, and the delivery of this order everything went smooth.

OK, not usual "Linksys" quality., March 20, 2008
By user
It took me over 4 hours to get this working, and I am fairly tech savvy. Even though it was connecting with a Linksys router, it didn't work after installation. Next, long and complicated story, it messed up the entire network. I had to reset the network on each computer. In hindsight, I would've been better off with a less expensive product (I paid a premium for ease of use). I give it 3 stars, because after resetting my entire network, it's working well now for a few months.

Worked perfectly, March 11, 2008
By user (Westerville, ohio United States)
A Linksys WRT54GS wireless router is used with the "master" computer, a Dell Precision Workstation, and this Linksys PCI card is used within an older Pentium III computer running Windows 2000. I was expecting a few problems with the installation. Nevertheless, everything worked beautifully, and I am able to take full advantage of my Roadrunner broadband with no obvious speed loss. Highly recommended!

Didn't work!, February 19, 2008
By user
The Linksys wireless adapter was fairly easy to install (it took longer to open the computer) but installing the software was a pain. The software is not user friendly and seemed pretty unprofessional. It had little in the area of help or troubleshooting and not even my father who is a computer programmer could figure it out. It didn't work at all in the end and I will find another brand of adapter instead of getting a replacement.

Best Item that I bought from Linksys, February 9, 2008
By user (Chester, PA United States)
I have bought Routers from linksys and I gave up on there stuff. I had to get a new wireless card for my computer to hook it up to the wireless in the house because the netgear router was a B and I wanted to get the network to all G. I picked the Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Card because of the price and I was hoping it would work right. Lucky enought it has worked perfect with no problems at all. I do Recommended this product. I am not a big fan of Linksys but of this one product I can say I am a fan of.
