This thing seems like a decent piece of equipment. The setup was easy and it worked without a problem. One MINOR annoyance, you can change the internal IP address of this thing to 192.168.XXX.XXX but the DHCP server will only hand out IPs in the range of 192.168.1.XXX. No real biggie, just personally annoying.

Easy to Set Up After Reading the Manual, April 12, 2004

Once I read the manual and understood the instructions, the router worked as advertised. It operates at 54 mps no matter where I am in the house. It is a keeper.

This wireless router simply ROCKS!!! It smokes my old Linksys router by 20-30% depending on the mode you use. Works excellent in a mixed mode enviorment with different brand clients. Signal output is easily a 25% increase over my old Linksys wireless 802.11b router. Has all kinds of extras in the interface such as parental control and my favorite is the ability to have on and off times for different clients. Can't wait to use this with a speedbooster enabled clientcard because even now with a Linksys PCI-802.11G (non-speedbooster) card I get 30+Mbps throughput. Remember when a box or standard says 54Mbs that is its bandwidth not its throughput. Throughput is usually 50% of bandwidth so this Linksys is the first wireless device I've ever seen excced the 50% rule! Linksys/Cisco you simply ROCK!!!iNetMANN and your not...

Got my router today. Installed in about 15 minutes, one wireless Toshiba with g, and one wired computer. Wireless internet is FAST! Set-up is straight forward and easy. Highly recommend.

Purchased the WRT54GS as an upgrade to Linksys BEFSX41 with an SMC 802.11b access point. Installed easily, but was very disappointed that with WEP and MAC filtering enabled the unit consistently drops connections after a few minutes in all available wireless modes (B-only, G-only, Mixed). It is indeed significantly faster than 802.11b for the short periods in which it holds the connection. ...
