Easy to use... but, August 14, 2008
By Juan Pablo Guerrero (Venezuela)
I bought this product because i was thinking it will bring D1.0 version but i was wrong! it came with C1.1 and the problems is that the firmware in the oficial web site doesn't work (d1.0)

Good one!!, July 1, 2008
By A Satisfied User (NY)
I was apprehensive when I was ordering it, but it works very well. I have been using it since last 1 month for a 1 bedroom, hall apartment and the signal is very good everywhere. Also, the installation is very easy, no issues at all. The installation guide and CD do their job very well!!

Works great, takes patience to set up, June 19, 2008
By J. Miller (Locust Grove, GA USA)
I bought this router as an inexpensive replacement for a router that quit on me. It works great. The setup was a little more tedious and time consuming than expected, but I was able to work through it. Works as well as some routers double the cost.

Works as advertised, June 13, 2008
By Drew Morrison
It's a wireless router. It's cheap, it works, it routes. Never could notice a difference in speeds when on wireless versus wired straight in, so I'd have to say it works great. No frills, but excellent if you don't need frills.
One thing you MUST know, however, is if you have technical know-how, do NOT use the "easy set-up CD". Just go into the router's firmware yourself (HTTP into 192.168.1.1 when wired to it) and you'll find all the settings you need. The CD is meant for people who don't know how to set up a router. I tossed the CD and set it up manually.

Cripple-Ware... Forces Wireless Network to be Public Unless Bribed, May 28, 2008
By Internet Telephone User (Cambridge, MA)
I recommended AGAINST buying this product.
The software as shipped has important functionality limited to the initial "trail" period of 30-days. DO NOT ACCEPT having a router that refuses to do MAC detection and refuses to hide its name unless you pay it more money.
Overall, I paid what the trendnet asked for a combined software and hardware product. I expect it to work without further purchase. It should not force me to be unable to make VOIP calls because I must share my local area network with my neighbor who wants to download movies or watch youtube videos at my expense.

Why buy any other, May 21, 2008
By DC (Atlanta, GA)
When it comes to wireless routers you should buy the cheapest. There is a higher speed in the market now but Wireless G speed much much more than anyone need at home. Its 54Mbps, which is 10 times faster than your DSL modem can deliver so a higher wireless speed network won't help you in anyway (Except if you are transfering huge files within your home or something like that, still 54Mbps is very high. Till recently I had 10Mbps router connecting 3 to 4 computers at home without any problems). This is very easy to setup too, just buy it.

Wireless routers are apparently not all the same..., May 17, 2008
By A. R. Fasih (Columbus, OH)
Having used wireless routers for several years, we thought they would be commoditized when we went to buy a new one about a year ago, and so bought the cheapest one (this Trendnet). I think we continue to use it to network two laptops to the internet just to see how much frustration we can take. Our laptops work fine when on campus and at friends' houses, but at home the wireless frequently drops even when in the same room as the router, and every 2-4 days, the wireless will totally cease to work, not allowing any wireless connectivity whatsoever until the router is rebooted.
Might have gotten a poor model. Wired connectivity works as expected, so not 1 star.
(The wireless just dropped in the time it took me to write this review. "Repaired" the connection in WinXP in order to post. I think we're going to get a Linksys WRT router very, very soon.)

Awful, awful router, May 16, 2008
By TomDinNJ (Maplewood, NJ United States)
If it were free this router would be overpriced. The signal is weak. It frequently locks up. It can't consistently fiqure out the current time. The management console is horrible. As my laptop would be turned off and on it wouldn't be allowed to reconnect to the router until I restarted the router. Almost impossible to get good connection speeds unless you are sitting right in front of it. The worst "bargain deal" I ever got. I've since replaced it with a D-Link MIMO router and it just works. With the trendnet roututer I was constantly forced to go to the router and pull the plug to restart it. Avoid it.

Very, Very Pleased!, May 14, 2008
By DA (NYC)
I always heard that wireless routers were tricky to set up but this product was fairly easy to install (and I'm not a techie). Most importantly, it works really well. I get a strong signal throughout my apartment. I definitely recommend this router to anyone looking for an wireless connection. Also, you can't beat the price--$29.99 less a $20 rebate, brought the cost down to just $9.99.

Junk not working with comcast broadband, April 24, 2008
By bugvirus (Foster City,CA)
I purchased this router thinking it would solve my wireless problem. Unfortunatly it has not. The router is working but I am not able to setup wireless. I spent hours with customer care and they were also not able to figure out what's going on eventhough they said that router is compitible with comcast broadband. I can user in wired form so it is junk for me.
If you have comcast broadband then make sure before purchasing.

Pretty Good, April 23, 2008
By JD (Bruno, WV USA)
This router does pretty good. It has a great range. Cant beat it for the price. It does better than my Dlink router ever thought of doing. My suggestion try it out and see what it does for you.

Works Great!, April 16, 2008
By Mark (Cleveland, OH)
The router is upstairs in the front of the house, and I still get a good signal on the downstairs back porch about 35-40 feet away. I have not had a single signal drop either. Took about 45 minutes to set up and that is with no prior experience with wireless. Very happy with this product.

signal keeps fluctuating very often, February 15, 2008
By RR (US)
had high hopes for this router with the nice menu/configuration options etc, but it keeps fluctuating the signal between hi and lo for no apparent reason....even got a more powerful antenna which didnt help at all. never again a trendnet pos for me...

A piece of junk, February 15, 2008
By T. WU (New Jersey)
The router keeps breaking up in few seconds and tech support is not helpful at all. Unless you configure the router with plain vanila options, i.e. no security, no port forwarding, no standard time sync, etc, it is the best you can get. Mine is Version D.

POS, bad tech support, December 18, 2007
By Neil
Maybe i received a bad one, but this thing sucks. I could not connect using the supplied software or through typing in the IP address and password. I then called tech support (mercifully, a toll free number) just to wait 15 minutes. After the wait, someone came on and said tech support was busy and would i like to be called back. I said ok, but no one ever called back.
Maybe you'll get one that works, but i think it's a roll of the dice. I bought a Zyxel X-550 to replace it, and it was the easiest router i have ever set up. it costs $70, but well worth the aggravation. This thing stole an hour and a half of my life and i want it back!

Poor customer service. Faulty router, December 17, 2007
By jmp_industry (Irving, TX, USA)
I bought this product about 7 months back. Since then I can only say it has worked partially for me. The configuration SW that comes with it and user guide make the installation VERY EASY. I could get it setup in less than 15 min. But thats where all the good things come to an end with this router. First I had trouble where the wireless access would keep breaking for 4-2 sec every 3-5 min. This was extremely annoying since I would be loggout out of gaming sites in between the games. I called their customer service center. Representatives are NEVER available. Someone will answer the call and say that he is only an operator and technical support person will call me back. This happened for 3-4 times, finally I got fed up and blasted this operator, he immediately connected me to a rep. The rep was not of any use. Emails were exchanged for nearly 1 month with no resolution. Finally in oct-07 they came up with SW upgrade for router and I installed it and that seems to fix the issue. Then recently suddenly the router cannot handle more than 1 link. I have 2 PCs. The first one once its active the second one slows down dramatically. Again I am trying to talk with technical support but they are not returning the calls. very poor experience. Stay away from this router. I got lured due to cost ($10 after MIR) but now I realize its not worth it.

Great little router / Tech support horrible, December 12, 2007
By tim (rockville, MD)
My buffalo router would drop and gets choppy playing videos so tried this out for $10. Didn't get it to work to called tech support. DO NOT call them at night; you have to leave name and # they call you back 3 days later when you are not home. Finally got hold of someone 5am (best time to call by the way) and they could not figure out why i could not connect to the internet. After 3 tech support calls, I finally figured that I had to specify a mac address also since my dsl uses a static ip address. Surprised they didn't know that. Anyway, router works great without any hiccups. Great buy (if you dont need tech support) !!
