No range at all, July 10, 2006
By user
This device has no range at all. I bought the device because I live in the city and there's a lot of interference on the 802.11b/g (2.4ghz) frequency. I have 5.8 Ghz phones and they're great with great range. I thought that 802.11a on 5Ghz would have similar good range. WRONG.
This device can't be seen in the next room. It's performance is awful. Don't buy it.

It is simply the best all-in-one (a/g/b) wireless Internet router, May 9, 2006
By user
I purchased the router because it's equipped with all 3 known Ethernet Wireless standards. I want to use the 802.11a standard because my Acer TravelMate 8104 has a built-in Intel 802.11a/g/b wireless adapter. After installing the router, activated 802.11a adapter on my laptop, I will never go back to 802.11g/b standard. Signals are super strong, besides no one else in my neighborhood runs 802.11a based routers. Longer range with superior data security (WPA). I called their pre-sales department, spoke to a friendly and knowledgable staff, Evan. He answered all my questions about setting up a wireless network at home. Trendnet has the best price compared with all other manufacturers. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants top notch support and affordable networking products.
