Simply dosn't work., July 1, 2007

This product just dosn't work. I got to work for about 2 days, had to unplug it to move to new location, hasn't worked since. During troubleshooting found that if USB cable is unplugged, I can ping device. Once I plug-in USB cable for printer, the device falls off the network (unplug USB, ping starts to respond again). Never did get it to connect with wireless. This is simply a piece of junk, don't waste your money. I use many LinkSys products and have always had good luck with them but this print server is VERY disapointing.

More bad news for Linksys print server, June 18, 2007

I just bought the WPS54G wireless print server this weekend. I called linksys because I was having problems installing the software onto Vista. I suspected that the software disk provided with the device was not the correct one for Vista so I called their technical support folks. I told them up front that I was trying to install this on a Vista operating system but they required me to answer about a zillion questions regarding my home network, had me crawl on the floor to find the serial numbers of all my linksys components, the version numbers, then had me update the firmware on my router, all before they told me that they did not have Vista drivers yet. I was upset that thy put me through so many hoops before answering my initial question. We could have avoided a 45 minute call. I asked if they had any idea as to when the Vista drivers would be ready and their answer was "soon". I asked for them to define soon. Does that mean a week, 2-weeks, 6-months, 2-years, and all they said was "I don't know". I will be returning the print server and looking for a different brand. Linksys is losing their customers because of the help they hire for technical support. Don't waste your time with Linksys. Take your business elsewhere.

Bad News, June 9, 2007

Paid top dollar for a print server that doesn't work!!! Can't get it to connect over wireless connection. Even when its hardwired it only works sometimes. The wizard gets to a certain point and fails. The utility software can't successfully install. Just to add fuel to the fire Linksys does not offer any free telephone tech support, only web support and its 50 question game doesn't even begin to address the problems I'm having.
THIS PRODUCT STINKS!!!!!
